Passion for the Arts a Success!

Last night over 60 parents & students from RBHS, Oak Park River Forest & Proviso Math & Science Academy attended RB’s Passion for the Arts. This was the second year RB has hosted the Fine & Applied Arts College Fair. Mrs. Marsha Hubbuch began the evening by sharing relevant information about how to determine the right college, resources for students to help in the college search & questions students should ask to find out facts about schools programs. Parents & students then were able to attend two break out sessions addressing Theater, Culinary Arts, Digital Media, Film & Photography, Music, Theater Tech, Art & Art Education, Dance, Broadcast Journalism & Architectural Design. Thank you to all of our representatives from Roosevelt University, Johnson & Wales, Illinois Institute of Art, Schaumburg, Universal Technical Institute, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Concordia University, North Central College, Northern Illinois University, Columbia College, Chicago & Triton College! Also, Thank you to all of the RB counselors & faculty that made RB's Passion for the Arts possible!

New Dance Studio- Grand Opening

The Honors Repertory Dance Ensemble class celebrated the arrival of their new dance studio. Dancers celebrated with an impromptu dance party and taking pictures. By the suggestion of the students, Ms. Hart-Haines cut the ribbon before entering the studio. The dancers cheered as they were eager to get inside to see their new rehearsal space. A special thank you to Mr. Tim Scanlon and the Riverside Brookfield communities for making this happen. We are so appreciative and thankful for our new dance studio.

Honors Repertory Dance Ensemble is a new class offered in the Fine Arts Department. The energy and excitement of the dancers and Ms. Hart-Haines is high! The dancers are working hard preparing for upcoming performances as well as discovering the duties of managing a performance group. Keep your eyes open for this year's new dance company t-shirt designed by the dancers themselves.

RBHS Passion for the Arts

Next Tuesday, September 29 at 7:00pm Riverside Brookfield High School will be hosting a Fine & Applied Arts college fair, Passion for the Arts.  Any interested local high school students and their families are invited to attend this program. Essential information regarding the college entry process & post high school studies in Art & Art Education, Automotive Studies, Broadcast Communications, Culinary Arts, Dance, Digital Media, Film, Music, Photography, Theater, & Theater Tech will be covered.  Representatives from Columbia College, Concordia University, Illinois Institute of Art, Johnson & Wales, North Central College, Northern Illinois University, Roosevelt University, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Triton College & United Technical Institute are scheduled to present for two break out sessions.  The overview of the evening begins in room 201 and then the break out sessions at start at 7:30 & 8:00pm in the surrounding classrooms. RBHS Fall Play - Murder Room

Audiences can expect a fast paced murder mystery comedy & a lot of fun while watching this year's fall play "The Murder Room," by Jack Sharkey.  Mark your calendars for the performances scheduled for Nov. 5 - 7th.  Mr. Tom Rusnak will direct with Rosanne Marshall as the Assistant Director.  Tickets will be available through the RBHS Business Office or at the door.  Auditions take place week of Sept. 14.  If anyone is interested in joining the Stage & Tech Crew please contact Mrs. Debbie McLaughlin.
